Le réseau régional de suivi REMONOR s'appuyant sur les acquis du réseau national REMORA de l'Ifremer, évalue chaque année la mortalité, la croissance et la qualité sur deux classes d'âges d'huîtres creuses (« adultes » = 2 ans et « juvéniles » = 1 an), réparties entre différentes stations dans les principaux secteurs ostréicoles Bas-Normands. Ce réseau, mené en collaboration par le LERN (Laboratoire Environnement Ressources de Normandie) et le SMEL (Syndicat Mixte de L'Equipement du Littoral), intègre deux nouvelles stations en 2006 : Veules les Roses (VR01), dont le suivi, allégé l'an dernier, est aujourd'hui complet et Denneville (CO10) qui doit compléter les connaissances sur le nord de la Côte Ouest du Cotentin. Each year, the regional network REMONOR assesses the mortality, growth and quality of cupped oysters in two age classes ("adults", 2 years old; "juveniles", 1 year old) at various stations in the main oyster farming areas in Normandy. We used the protocol established by the national network REMORA. REMONOR is implemented by the Normandy Environment Resources Laboratory (LERN) in conjunction with the Joint Association for Coastal Fisheries (SMEL). The first half of 2007 is characterised by very low summer mortality rates (spring mortality has not been analysed due to the bad quality of the original batch). This low rate concerns the two different size classes of each station except Géfosse (BV02) where a high mortality has been monitored (see SUMON monitoring). Growth seems significant, but the adults' initial weight required a finer analysis. Juveniles had a larger growth than the previous years, and especially on the west coast. On the adult side, maturation was well advanced in June, but the September biometrics showed disparate filling rates between the different stations, and had us suppose that the spawning season was on.

A production monitoring network focused on the blue mussel Mytilus edulis, was developed at the Charentais sounds' geographic level to assess the spatial and temporal variability of the mussel production. Similarly to the oyster growth monitoring network REMORA, an homogeneous and calibrated mussel population (L = 35.5 mm, TW = 3.35 g) was distributed into six rearing sites, representative of the sounds production. The rearing technics were compared and intercalibrated with previous growout facilities used for preliminary trials (round bags-oyster bags). Le réseau de suivi de croissance des moules dans les Pertuis Charentais a 3 ans d 'existence. L'année 2002 n'est pas une bonne année de croissance. Les mesures de gain de poids moyen journalier saisonnier soulignent un fort retard de croissance pour la période printanière (0,35 en 2002 contre 0,38 en 2001 et 0,69 en 2000). Ce manque de croissance n' est pas récupéré en été et reste équivalent à celui de 2001 (0,30). L'automne montre des résultats très variables, à l'avantage de l'élevage sur filières. La mortalité moyenne (20%) enregistrée en décembre 2002, atteint le même niveau qu 'en 2001, nettement supérieur à celui enregistré à la même date en 2000 ( 14%). Le réseau d’observations conchylicoles RESCO assure, depuis 2009, le suivi de lots sentinelles d'huîtres creuses Crassostrea gigas sur des sites ateliers disposés sur l'ensemble du littoral français. Leur suivi permet d'acquérir des données nationales de croissance et de mortalité, de traduire la dynamique spatio-temporelle des performances d’élevage et ainsi de participer à la compréhension des phénomènes observés. The French network RESCO was developed in 2009, following the widespread mortalities in French oysters stocks of Crassostrea gigas that killed a majority of young cultivated oysters in summer 2008. The main objective of this network was to develop a tool of estimation of the mortalities at national scale, through a standardized monitoring of sentinel oysters In 2013, similar batches of spat and 18 month old oysters from different origins were deployed in thirteen sites located all along the French coasts to measure the spatial and temporal evolution of the mortality and growth rates. Since 1989, an homogeneous Crassostrea gigas oyster stock has been distributed once a year on several rearing sites in Brittany (3 populations per site). The main quantitative and qualitative growth descriptors, which reflect water quality effects during the monitoring period, are estimated at the end of each year. The 1989-1992 analysis prompted us to describe various growth responses correlated to biotops: oyster production in open areas influenced by oceanic waters was fairly constant in quality, including size and Polydora sp. infestation. Thiis report aims to study the oyster Crwsosrrea gigas growth and production over a 12 years time' s span in the bay of Marennes-DIeron. Results of 12 years of oyster growlh did not show any significant oyster biological productivity decrease, nor trend. ln contrast, annual growth showed a large variability, which will be correlated with environmental conditions. Every year, from March to December, the IFREMER / REMORA network carries out a survey of mortality, growth and quality criteria of two oyster batches ("juveniles" = one-year ciass ; and "adults" = two-years class), distributed among various stations of the main French oyster areas. In Brittany, this network includes 11 points, to which regional points can be added (15 in 2000). With regard to the Breton stations of the network, the year 2000 showed rather low mortality rates, excepted mortality of several oysters when transfered to the sea. Several areas however had higher mortality rates (> 20%) : l'Arguenon, Morlaix, les Abers, Pen-Bé and Le Croisic. 2000 is a year of good growth in South Brittany (72.8 g in December), more average in North Brittany...

The monitoring network IFREMER/REMORA in Thau lagoon is assessing, on a yearly basis, mortality, growth and quality criteria distributed among 6 stations. Samplings are carried out in March, June, September and December. 2003 is a year with a very important mortality in Mèze and Marseillan area due to an anoxy and an anormal mortality at Bouzigues Nord in december. The growth rate is always better than others French oysters areas. Afnor index is high (beetwen 13.7 and 16.5 in december), so the totality of the oysters are classifed in "Spéciales". Polydora sp. Index is important but the initial stock was first infected. The valve quality is good, with no gelatine, except on Bouzigues South.

This report presents the main results for 2002 of the eight points in the Lagune de Thau, in accordance with the monitoring network REMORA: 3 national points and 5 regional added by the «Laboratoire Conchylicole de Méditerranée». Only adults batch is observed in the Mediterranean sea. This year the mortality ratio is low (< 5 %), without significant differences between areas. Like for the whole national network, the average individual weight are less than previous years in Bouzigues and Marseillan area ; in opposite Mèze area has better results. The monitoring network IFREMER /REMORA is assessing, on a yearly basis two oyster batches ("juveniles" = one-year old ; and "adults" = two-years old), distributed among various stations of the main French oyster areas. Samplings are carried out in March, June, September and December. In this way this network assess seasonal mortality, growth and quality of cupped oysters, in which it is a tool for trend estimations, and then for ecosystem management or scientific studies. However, it must not be considered as an accurate estimation of professional oyster ongrowings. 2002 has been a year of very few mortality (6% in average for "adults" and 11% for juveniles).
